CEO of TurkTelekom:
" The innovation done on the standard telephone (land) lines, the Fixed Linehas gained much more value than one can expect."

Dr. DOANY began his speech by emphasizing the relation between innovation and technology. He stated that the developments in the telecommunication sector has been fast and consists of different dynamics. He added that with the innovation done on the standard telephone (land) lines, the “Fixed Line” has gained much more value than one can expect.

He stated that in the period when they purchased the shares of Turk Telekom, the sector was much more interested in mobile communication and the operators who saw the future in the mobile sector invested great amounts in order to use that technology. After the acquisition Turk Telekom changed their strategic decisions because of the high costs of the management of mobile technologies and the uncertainty of the future of 3G, and turned towards the “Fixed Line”. Dr. DOANY,  stated that today they see that it was a good decision to purchase Turk Telekom shares. He emphasized that as the propellent power of technology is innovation, focusing on ADSL was a right strategy.

Giving information about Turk Telekom’s foreign operations, he stated that they have been working for Albanian Telekom and according to him this has been an exciting process. He also stated that they have entered into the short list of Slovenia Telekom adjudication and will be competing with 3 firms in the auction (tender???). He  underlined that they have been waiting for privatization of Kazakhistan’s and Azerbaijan’s telecommunication sector and added that they are seeking opportunities in Saudi Arabia And Egypt.

Dr. Paul DOANY stated that, they are in preparation of establishing a call center. And added that the call center in which 3500 people would be employed, will be serving Turk Telekom and Avea. He stated that the call center could also serve for other companies, thus in short period of time they would earn the first position among call centers. While giving examples of their recent customer services, Dr. DOANY stated that the real change in Turk Telekom had been in customer relation services.

Dr. DOANY explained that Turk Telekom had participated in many social responsibility projects and that they were giving priorization to education projects. He stated that they have been leading in, increasing the number of schools equipped with modern technologies. He underlined that Turkey is going to become the future informatic society and added that in order to realize it, they have been educating teachers in Turkish schools. He indicated that with this project the teachers would benefit from opportunities related with internet and computer technologies, thus preparing students to be ready for informatic society.
He stated that they will start e-learning in “Institute of Informatics and Communication Technologies” in which both Turk Telekom employees and others could participate in.

Dr. DOANY, underlined that Turkey is a good country to invest due to its  potential economic growth, education quality, right location and young population.
